Lynda Hogan, Assistant to the Director - Retiree Benefits

Lynda has worked for CWA Local 1180 Retiree Division since 1997 and since that time, has worked as the office Administrative Assistant as well as the Receptionist.   Lynda’s extensive background in the health insurance industry gave way to a promotion in 2005 to the newly formed position of Assistant to the Director - Retiree Benefits.  It was this knowledgeable of health insurance regulations, benefits and the sensitivity to the retired population that was honed during her eight previous years of employment in the Division that made Lynda the perfect choice for this new service that would be offered to retired members.  Lynda has provided many informative workshops about benefits offered by the NYC Health Plans, CWA Local 1180 Retiree Benefit Fund, and Medicare to name a few.  Lynda also designs works with the healthy eating workshops and is on board at many of the daytime excursions.

Lynda’s motto is there is ‘there is no silly question regarding benefits”.  She always makes sure that before retirees leave her workshops there is a clear understanding of the topic.  Lynda is loved by the retirees who many have called a “Benefit Angel”.  Lynda has a special gift of compassion and empathy for retirees/ seniors to ensure that they are treated fairly.  She will always go the extra mile to help any member in need.

Lynda is currently enrolled at the Joseph S Murphy Institute at The CUNY School of Professional Studies pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies.
